Owen is a big brother again!

It is official, we completed the paperwork today and Matthew is now ours!

Things went smoothly this morning and pretty quickly considering how many families were there today. The best part was when we were interviewed by the Notary Offical. He was a riot. He asked us all the necessary questions to process the adoption. Then he joked with us about how young we were and how we could still have more children (even though he thought we had a huge family already.) He kept laughing and we kept laughing. Our guide said that he is one who likes to talk. That is an understatement! He was impressed with Mike and his career choice. It is a big deal here in China to be a police officer, and the notary made sure everyone knew that Mike was a police officer.

Tomorrow we apply for Matthew's passport and then we can work on the rest of the immigration process.

This evening we plan to take a cab to the Island and get our shopping done. My students sent me with a list of items they want me to bring back, and Mike and I have a few things on our list as well. Maybe we will visit The Cow and Bridge for some Chinese/Thai food for dinner. Mmmmmm!

The days are just flying by. My trip is half over now. Wow.
